Jammu sits across ridges and river banks, so distance on a map is a poor guide to travel time: Gandhi Nagar to Trikuta Nagar is quick, Bakshi Nagar to Channi Himmat after dark is not. Winter cuts the usable evening here more sharply than in most cities, and a family happy with home visits in September may want the same lessons online by December, so read the teaching mode on a requirement rather than assuming it. Students in the belts outside the city are mostly reachable online, which is worth knowing before you rule those postings out.
A good part of the work comes from service households — army, paramilitary, police and government departments posted in and out again. In practice that means students who have changed board somewhere in the middle of their schooling and are carrying a gap from another state's syllabus, and arrangements that run for one academic year rather than settling in for several. Ask early which board the student is on now and which one they were on before. The second answer often explains the problem better than the first, and it tells you whether you are teaching this year's chapters or quietly repairing the last two.
On planning the week, the question is how much of it you can keep inside one part of the city. Two sittings in Gandhi Nagar and Trikuta Nagar in an evening is reasonable; one in Janipur and one in Channi Himmat is not, and less so once it is dark and cold. Everything past the city — Udhampur, Samba, R.S. Pura, the Katra side — is really online work. Where the connection is uneven, agree at the start what happens to a class that drops halfway, so a lost hour does not become an argument about the fee later.
